Adam’s Apples – This flick is a odd mysterious comedy about two very diverse men who have a battle of wills. It is a recently developed religious zealot versus a hard core neo-Nazi villain. The battle of good against evil is on. The key stars are Ulrich Thomsen, Mads Mikkelsen, Nicolas Brom, and Paprika Steen. (German-Danish-comedy directed by Anders Thomas Jensen)

Number One with a Bullet – Carradine and Williams do well in this somewhat standard action movie where we have hostile investigators out to oust a drug kingpin. Cast includes Robert Carradine, Billy Dee Williams, Valerie Bertinelli, Peter Graves, Doris Roberts, and Bobby DiCicco. (101 minutes,’87)

Aladdin – Disney’s animated Arabian Days account is polished through the feeling of an old Warner Bros. animation, as Aladdin brings up a Genie who’s overflowing with shtick. Williams’ comedic fast fire chatter forms the centerpiece of this otherwise conventional tale, colorfully (and tunefully) shown. Cast includes Voices of Scott Weinger, Robin Williams, Linda Larkin, Jonathan Freeman, Frank Welker, Gilbert Gottfried, Douglas Seale and the harmonizing voices of Brad Kand and Lea Salonga. The All-American Boy – Jumbled drama in reference to Olympic hopeful Voight’s endeavor to be a victorious boxer; eye-catching locations of northern California, but that’s all. Cast includes Jon Voight, Ned Glass, Anne Archer, and Carol Androsky. (104 minutes,’89)

Red – Very last film in Kieslowski’s “3 Colors” trilogy which, like Blue and White, might stand alone with its self contained tale. Fashion model Jacob meets upset, retired magistrate Trintignant by chance, then creates a relationship with him and enters his cloistered, clandestine life. Set in Geneva, this is a story of few entwined lives. Cast includes Irene Jacob, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Frederique Feder, Jean-Pierre Lorit, Juliette Binoche, Julie Delpy, and Benoit Regent. (99 minutes,’94)
