With no time to destroy the missiles, they leave them behind and complete the rescue mission. We need to recover these weapons before terrorists have the chance to use them.
Talladega Nights: The Battle o Ricky Bobby: This is a crazy comedy with NASCAR racing as its platform. Ricky Bobby has become one of the best drivers in NASCAR. When an accident puts him out of action, he loses his nerve for racing. With nothing but racing in his life, Ricky Bobby must find a way to overcome his fear, and return to his championship form.
Kill or Be Killed: Karate champions lock limbs as ex-Nazi tutor desires reprisal on his Japanese counterpart who bested him in a battle in WW2. This is a cut above the typical martial arts fodder. Cast includes James Ryan, Norman Combes, Charlotte Michelle, and Danie DuPlessis. (90 minutes, 1980)
Red Scorpion: Low Budget action movie with Lundgren as a Soviet officer sent to Africa to slay an insurgent leader. Cast includes Dolph Lundgren, Emmet Walsh, Al White, T.P. McKenna, Carmen Argenziano, and Brian James. (102 minutes, 1989)
Nightmare on Elm Street: A few teenagers find they’re all having bad dreams about the same bad guy, scar faced Fred Krueger, a sort of ghost who can enter their dreams at will and attack them while they sleep. It’s up to Nancy Langenkamp to try to stop Freddy Krueger. Cast includes Lionel Atwill, Fay Wray, Glenda Farrell, Allen Vincent, Blunt McHugh, and Arthur Edmund Carewe. (77 minutes, 1933)
Bar Girls: Friendly if faulty romantic comedy with a twist: most of its chief characters are lesbians who assemble at L.A.’s Girl Bar. The core personality is compulsive, wryly ludicrous Loretta Wolfe, a female Woody Allen who desires an exact better half but not truly grasping what it means to genuinely and entirely love another person. The film’s shortcomings are made up for by witty discussion and believable characters. Cast includes Nancy Allison Wolfe, Liza D’Agostino, Camila Griggs, Justine Slater, Lisa Parker, and Pam Raines. (95 minutes, 1994)
Titanic: It is the maiden voyage of the spectacular new ship. People are excited to make the voyage from England to New York. The Titanic is deemed unsinkable, but then the unthinkable happens, and the ship starts sinking into the Atlantic.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Cute variance on vampire legends, with high school valley girl Swanson turning out to be “the selected one” of her generation to kill wandering vampires. Sutherland is superlative as her mentor and guide, and Reubens the prior Pee-wee Herman is fun as one of the fanged bullies. Look for Ben Affleck as a basketball player. Cast includes Kristy Swanson, Donald Sutherland, Paul Reubens, Rutger Hauer, Luke Perry, and Gregson Wagner. (86 minutes, 1992)
